Sant'elena Pinot Grigio

Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Appealing texture, depth, solidity. It seems a half-step toward Alsace in style. Expressive melon and citrus fruit, good structure and balanced acidity.

Winemaker Maurice Drascek makes several of the top white wines in the Isonzo, a sub-region of Friuli that is particularly well-suited to white wine production. It is the estate's mission to produce small amounts of exceptionally flavorful, healthy fruit from its 38 hectares of vines. To reach this goal, high density vineyard plantings, rigorous canopy management and green harvesting are employed, as are a team of experienced grape harvesters who pick by hand only ripe, undamaged fruit.
